Impact Of Internet On Indian Stock Market And Investors

INTERNET”. It has changed the way we see the world and redefined the traditional communication media. Internet has brought revolutionary changes in all fields.

India was introduced to the Internet in the early 90’s and the use started to increase rapidly. India stands 5th in the list of countries by number of internet users (Source: Wikipedia).

The Stock markets introduced Internet trading (online-trading) in February 2002 which has brought a tremendous change in trading. The National Stock Exchange started the first form of online trading wherein a user/investors can BUY/SELL stocks in a day without much paper work.

Earlier it used to take around 60 days to BUY/SELL stocks in stock markets and the investor also had to go though loads of paper work. But thanks to Internet the wait has curbed and in the last ten years, Indian capital markets have recorded 1488% of growth in exchange turnover.

In the recent past, the participation of retail investors has increased and they are considered as the most unsafe participants in the market. The following are the major hindrances noticed for investing in stock market:

Price Fluctuation
No guaranteed returns
Confusion in choosing stocks
Lack of information on investing
Bad experience with markets

Though there are lots of participants like forums, tippers, technical or fundamental analyst etc. who suggest the investors on choosing stocks, they fail to follow up with the stock. The money of the investors is blocked in stocks as they are not informed about when to sell the stocks. This is where an investors is loosing money though they have entered the stock at the right time, they don’t know when to exit to make profits.

Of all the available online services which suggest on investing in stocks, it is believed that vantagetrade.com is one of the most reliable online decision making systems aimed at serving investors dealing in financial instruments, globally.

VantagetTrade is a step beyond decision supporting systems that exists today wherein the users are exposed to open-ended outputs, which are subjected to individual interpretations. Using the Internet to Help You Write Assignments, Articles, Essays and Homework

Google is the starting place for any internet research. It is the largest and most used search engine. When you search Google, try using “quotation marks” around the search term. This tells Google that you want search results with exactly the words contained in the quotation marks. Experiment a little with this, you will find that you get back more relevant results. Also check out Google Books, Google News and Google Scholar. These are all great resources.

YouTube is another great place for being exposed to new ideas. What I really like about YouTube is the visual and audio aspect. There are some days that I am researching, I just don’t want to read, I want a simple explanation. I’ve found that many people upload great videos about almost any topic. You can get through a degree with YouTube.

Another strong starting point when writing essays or assignments is Wikipedia. Just note, I do not reference Wikipedia. This is usually frowned upon at tertiary level. But it can be a great starting point and the references used in the articles usually have links to other sources of information.

Another great way to research is using databases. Basically an online library. Now, if you are enrolled in a university, ask at the library for access to online databases. It takes a small amount of effort upfront to learn to use these databases properly but the effort is well worth it. If you are not enrolled in a university, your local library may still allow you access if you enquire with them.

Virtual Real Estate. How to Cash in on Internet Investment

Virtual real estate is leveraging the internet and investing in its online space, whether that be an online store, website or domain name.

Investing in the internet in this way, is commonly known as Virtual real estate and has been happening for quite some years with the buying and selling of domain names. Wikipedia lists some of the most expensive domain names sold on record, one of which was Toys.com, which was sold for $5.1 million dollars in 1999. What this means is, that someone had purchased the domain name for the regular price approximately $15, then resold it to Toys ‘R Us for a profit of more than $5 million dollars.

While there has been much buying and selling of domain names, most of the highly sought after single-word-domains have already been registered, leaving the longer, niche specific names to be invested in.

SO how do you cash in on an internet investment these days?

Well I’ve discovered three ways.

The first is investing in, and then selling niche specific domain names. You need to research keywords in niche markets using the Google Adwords Keywords tool, or the Wordtacker tool. Try to target keywords which contain 2 or 3 words, which receive high traffic, for example “weight loss” or “easy weight loss”. Then go to a domain name provider such as Crazy Domains or Go Daddy and enter the keywords as a domain name in their search box to see if it’s available. If it is and you feel this would be a lucrative business name for a future online business, then go ahead and register it. This becomes your Virtual Real Estate investment, where you buy and hold, just like a regular investment strategy. You keep your piece of internet real estate (your domain name) until, someone contacts you because they want to buy it, or you actively seek to sell it, or auction it to the highest bidder.

The second way to find lucrative virtual real estate to invest in, is to follow the same principles of keyword research, but this time apply the investment strategy to an internet platform, such as Facebook. Here you may be lucky enough to capture an investment using a double keyword such as “weight loss”.

The third way and by far the most lucrative and exciting, is to exploit the newest internet platform being launched right now. You will want to learn more about this new internet platform, because you have plenty of opportunity to invest in the best store names now- before they are snapped up by others, simply because this hottest internet platform, is in its infancy in terms of investment. Store names are the equivalent to domain names, on this revolutionary new internet platform, which means you could get the equivalent of “toys.com” for yourself now. The Virtual Real Estate on this new, cutting edge platform could be your most lucrative investment yet.
